While playing soccer on August 9, 2012, in Wiesbaden, Germany, as part of the Army’s PT (Physical Training), John broke his right leg and ended up in St. Josefs-Hospital Wiesbaden.

On Friday, May 23, 2014, Weldon was at work at BetterLinux in Provo, Utah, when he received a phone call from John, in San Angelo, Texas. He informed me that he had just gotten married to Kelly Grace Kirkendall, whom he had met while assigned to military intelligence work in Germany. Kelly was a member of the U.S. Air Force.
The next weekend following the marriage of John and Kelly, Barbara and Weldon flow to San Antonio, Texas, where Kelly’s parents met them at the airport. We celebrated their wedding on Saturday, May 31, ad Kelly’s aunt’s home in a San Antonio suberb.
